1st use of this oven, reluctantly

It's been so hot, and I still don't have the whole kitchen unpacked... okay, before you think I'm a complete lazy fool, there are legitimate reasons for this. Including, Lincoln hasn't installed (and I can't go around with a power drill with Jace hanging on my legs) the cabinet locks. So the boys are much safer with the knives and such packed in a box they aren't interested in. They love opening all the drawers and cupboards to see if anything is inside, and raid whatever there is. So for right now, the only thing in them is snacks they can have.
I've been wanting to try this muffin recipe using one of my favorite HG mixes. Their sweet bread mix is so easy and yummy for banana bread. I couldn't stay away from it while pregnant with Jacen and had to take a lot of insulin to get away with it! Someone came up with a variation for bran muffins. So since it wasn't already hot in the house before noon, I braved the boys tripping me up, and tried the recipe. I really like it. It's not as sinful as the banana bread... it has bran in the name for crying out loud, but they are still pretty darn good.
Aidan loves to put food in his cargo train cars and this particular day, he'd put M&M's in there. Jacen found it impossible, even with being pushed down over and over, to resist. He actually got away with quite a few!
Banging on the dishwasher.
This is Aidan's favorite nap place. I guess it makes him feel special to nap downstairs instead of in bed like Jacen has to. It doesn't look very comfortable to me! But when I ask him, "do you want to take your nap in bed, or on the chair?" he picks the chair most of the time. He still loves his bed... thank goodness! He even stays in his room until I come get him in the morning. So he must like it!
