Creativity
Over a year ago I seriously considered getting Aidan a train table for Christmas or his Birthday. He's seen it in the store and wants it. Today, I'm glad I didn't. I will not consider it in the future, either. It was one of those really nice Step 2 tables with the tracks already built into it. Instead, Aidan uses everything he can think of to build what he sees. It's fun to watch what he tries and ends up sticking with. Plain old blocks can be a great toy, for sure. If he'd had more arches, he'd have put them all the way across. This is only one of several he's built in the last month alone. I have been lazy in my photo taking, so I don't have shots of his other creations. He made a long tunnel out of the blocks for Gordon to go through, that I wish I had a photo of. He literally "works" on his track formations for hours a day. I decided it was okay to let him work on something for such extended periods of time because it's a useful project and he's not so obsessed with it he's unwilling to do or try anything else. If I ask him to leave his train work he only protests sometimes, but gets over it quickly.
