Confessions

Grandma & Grandpa Weber brought us cereal they certainly weren't going to eat, left over from my nephews Jacob & Alex. While they were still here, we mixed up a couple batches of rice crispy treats in our efforts to use even the annoying, tiny, "scatters everywhere" cereals like cocoa pebbles.
I don't remember what pan I gave Mom for putting the treats in, but it certainly wasn't this nice, neat, perfect for this Tupperware container. Confession #1: I don't realize what I have. This could be paralleled to several things in my life, including spiritually, but we won't go there. I'd forgotten completely about these containers that I have. And I must admit, I wondered what on earth I would actually use them for. They came in a surprise pack. As it turns out, they are wonderful for these really yummy and fun rice crispy treats. So I guess they will get used after all. Good thing I didn't get rid of them.
Okay, I'll go there... our lesson in RS was #19 about trials. Just recently I've begun to understand the phrase that used to annoy me, "we are given trials to bless us." They are always those surprises that I wish I didn't have. I remember thinking things like, "okay, but I still don't want to go through a trail." I didn't realize what I had, in the trial. I now understand (I'm a late bloomer) that we need them, to really know Christ and Heavenly Father. They bring us closer to Him. I'm talking about the horrible trials that are so hard to go through, we have to choose whether to beg Him for help, or become angry and bitter. Frankly, it's much easier to ask for help. Anger and bitterness are too exhausting. And what an enormous blessing to come closer to Him.
Okay, back to silliness. Confession #2: I let my boys eat everywhere, anytime, making a dinner table useless, and messes in the carpet and on the tile, for me to clean up, as well as very messy clothes and faces. Yes, this is very disorderly, and I normally hate chaos, but I'm getting used to it. It all started when we moved back to ID... I'll blame that ("ding, ding, ding, blame you wins hands down!!!") and the house we moved into didn't have enough room for our stuff, let alone us. Our dinner table became a storage stacker, and Aidan was fed in the living room from our plates or bowls. Now, Jacen is included in that tradition.
Confession #3: I let the boys have dvds running most of the day. This is a rare moment to catch Aidan just sitting there watching it. He usually is just listening and singing or commenting while he works on his own projects. Jace will sit and watch for a while, but usually gets going with his own projects too. I use the word "projects" loosely with Jace... it's really taking every toy he can get his little hands on and scattering them everywhere.

We have a bunch of leftover cereal as well and I make up treats too, but it usually ends up to be me or Daniel eating them all--- not so good.

We have food everywhere too. This is why my carpet cleaner is in use so frequently. I have found that when my kids go through their stages of not eating, they are much more apt to eat when I leave snacks for them on the table or give them their food in cups or bags and let them walk around the house. You're right though, probably not the best habit... oh well!

The TV... isn't it so easy? I try and get out every day in the mornings to eliminate tv time, but Ellie watches it while Owen is napping and they certainly still watch way more than they should. It is much better than it was during the summer and I was on bed rest and they watched a lot of tv. But, I say that no one can criticize... you do the best you can! Plus, I gotta say that my kids have actually learned some quality things from their tv programs.

Oh and I love Jace's pretty brown eyes!
