Glad we took advantage of the warm weather!

We went to the park again yesterday. It was so warm and we had the whole park to ourselves. The boys had a great time, in spite of their colds and Aidan's really sore throat from the air tubes.
As Jace says, "vwwhheeeeee!" all the way down.

He has a hard time getting his hips to do what he needs to get in the correct position.

So he did a couple belly slides.

But neither of them complained.
Aidan's MRI results will be available by Wednesday, hopefully. For a claustrophobic, terrified 4yr old, many procedures for an MRI have to be altered. He was first given an oral medicine to "make him feel drunk," as the doctors put it. Which looking at it from my point of view as his mother, didn't seem to help any. Anyway, they then wheeled him down to the MRI room, (he liked the ride on the bed) got him giggling and distracted, made me leave, (really hard to do!) then put the "gas mask" on him and strapped him to the bed at the same time, (there were three of them) put the IV in, gave him general anesthesia to knock him completely out, put tubes down his throat for breathing, and monitors on his chest to make sure he was safe, and then did the MRI. That was the easy part.
Then when he woke up, the drugs they give at some point in the whole thing, made him a wild man. (Normal) That's the only way to describe it. It makes them very angry. They fight to get free with an adrenaline that surpasses any strength I had, for sure. It reminded me of those ER videos I've seen of people on crack. They called me after he'd woken up, so he was already fighting. I heard him shrieking long before I got to him, and didn't need anyone to tell me where he was... I just followed his shrieking. It took a half an hour for me to get him calmed down enough for them to get the IV out. Then another half hour to get him to stay calm long enough they'd let me leave with him.
He didn't eat until dinner and rested most of the afternoon and evening.
We are really glad it's over.
So even though the boys were sick, we took them to the park anyway. May have been irresponsible, but I think we all deserved some fresh air and relaxation.
The inevitable stormy weather rolled in this morning.

No you were great to take them out even if they were a bit sick. This weather is great! We have had great weather too, I know 2morrow will be a different story as the cold air blows through today.
I am anxious to hear about the MRI and thinking about you guys. I wish you luck and pray that all is ok.

I think it was a well deservedtrip to the park. You really are a great mom. It sounds like that MRI was just a nightmare. Keep us posted.
