Projects and school

I'm working on many projects that will hopefully accomplish multiple goals in each project.  For example these magnets.  Individually, they aren't strong enough, so I combined them to make bigger magnets... with some glue for extra strength just in case the youngest gets to them somehow... don't need choking hazards.  Anyway, the full project is getting pictures of Christ on our walls.  (And some of Aidan's and Jacen's prized artwork too.) When you've got boys like ours, and a budget like ours, you can't just go out and buy those gorgeous $200+ framed prints and nail them up.  You've gotta come up with something that is cheap, colorful, and the big one here... truly toddler proof.  Cuz the toddler in our house climbs.  So my idea is painted cookie sheets as the "frame" with laminated prints held up with these.  Hubby is currently in the process of painting those cookie sheets bright red and blue.  (Well, I don't know how accurate "current" is, but let's just say he's workin' on it.)  Once he's done with that, I'll head to the church distribution center and get the prints I want, get 'em laminated, and eventually, have what I want.

After much inner struggle for me, okay, I'll admit the truth, it was really my stubbornness not wanting to follow promptings that kept getting louder and more frequent... I enrolled Aidan in an online school instead of taking him to regular public school.  I come from a family of public school teachers and administrator, how can I do such an off the wall thing?  But I gotta tell you, it's GREAT!  I can adapt lessons and schedules to match Aidan's needs.  If he's not doing well and having a lot of seizures, we ignore the lessons even though it might be Thursday... and make up the lessons on Saturday.  I don't have to change all his therapies to night sessions, which would make them much less productive.  It's just sort of time consuming for me until I find my little groove with lesson prep. :)  I mean come on, I haven't been doing anything school related for about 15yrs!  My brain is rusty.  The curriculum is all right there, but I've gotta read it! ;)

Now, please remember, I'm not the weirdo that put an unreal amount of caulking on that ugly non matching sun faded (seriously, don't ask me how, I have no clue) tub surround. I've been promising the therapists I'd let Jace take baths instead of showers, only to keep answering that I hadn't done it yet, whenever they asked.  I can now say I'm doing it regularly.  Let's just say, Idaho rentals are trashy, and tubs are difficult to clean... And the last time I let them have baths was when we lived in a pretty decent loft apt.  But since then the need for more space has put us in houses that are just, well, not properly maintained by the owners.  After a late night of hubby doing some plumbing work, and three scrubbing jobs by me, another goal is accomplished.  The boys are really enjoying their tub time again though.  If only you could hear Jace say, "bubbowlsss."
