Wind burn and blizzards

I am so grateful Damon's face healed so quickly.  He had a wind burn from what couldn't have been more than a minute's worth of exposure to the blizzard yesterday.  I didn't see it until a few hours later, he let his pacifier drop out of his mouth, and there was a white spot that didn't go away... with the rest of his face then noticeably red.  I put bag balm on it and put him to bed.  Now he's all ghostly white again except for the granola bar smears.  Jace isn't supposed to let him get to the granola bars because he still can't handle them and vomits... But Jace chooses to ignore that.
Speaking of, I'm glad that things have changed somewhat between Damon and Jacen.  When Damon was born, Jace not only ignored him, but I couldn't leave them alone in the room.  Jace wasn't malicious or anything like that, he just doesn't understand that his action of say stepping on Damon would actually cause hurt and harm.  I know that sounds ridiculous, but Jace really doesn't get it.  That's why he will climb to the top of the bookshelf, fall and hurt himself, and still come to me with a look as if to say, "why am I in pain, how did that happen?" and then turn right around seconds later to climb right back up.
Anyway, because of Jace's not getting it, and being jealous of the new baby that suddenly had so much attention, they didn't get along.  Now they actually play together.  As much as a 1yr old can play with a 3yr old, but I'm glad the constant having to defend/protect Damon has lessened to about half the time. :)
Aidan is just waiting for his tooth to be pulled.  They have promised me that he will be okay waiting 2 more weeks.  I think they are being too cavalier with a child with LGS, but at any sign of the infection spreading, I will take him to his pediatrician for help from another doctor who gets it.
Not even Thanksgiving yet and I'm sick to death of blizzards.  This might not be a good depiction of the drift, because it's only the top part of it.  I wanted the window and door in the photo so you could see the wind splattered snow... so I had the camera angled up quite a bit.  It goes from the ground, up four steps, and the platform before making it's way up the door.
First it started with not just big flakes of snow, but CHUNKS of snow falling from the sky on Saturday.  I'm not exaggerating when I say that the "flakes" we saw were as big as Damon's whole hand.  We couldn't even get the burb swept off before it was covered again.
Then 3 days of this mess (blizzards off and on) and now we are going to plunge into a sub-zero deep freeze until the weekend which will then bring us yet more snow.
So as Damon's face healed, mine finally showed the wind burn... I woke up this morning with bright red cheeks and a big goose-egg on my forehead from the wind kicking the burb door right into my face yesterday.  Yes, it was graceful, of course!  Everything is graceful when mother nature releases her fury.
