Defending my faith

Wow.  Okay, I'm definitely in the minority with my neighbors and friends and family.  I do not agree with Mitt Romney's vision of what needs to be done to pull our country out of the mess it's in.

But as many members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, I am heartbroken when people choose to put down his choice of religion, instead of sticking to his politics.  Mostly so, when people claim he is isn't a true believer in Christ.  Because when they say that, they mean Mormons in general, not just Mitt... which would include me.
When something is so intertwined in my life, in my whole being, it's so disturbing to be told by others that it isn't.  If you don't know us, if you only know our faith through what you've been taught by a priest from another religion, you are speaking without knowledge.  Speaking without knowledge on a subject, is well, ignorance.  Ignorance that perpetuates hate.  Of course there are people in the church that do the same thing, it's a two way street.  I try really hard not to though, because it's just plain wrong and I know it.

So for everyone who reads my blog that isn't LDS, what I want you to know is-
I believe in Christ.
I love Him.  He is my Savior.  He is pure Love.  He is our advocate with our Father.
I don't worship anyone or anything else.
I make mistakes, I sin.  And I am eternally grateful He atoned for my sins, so that as I actively repent, I am forgiven and reconciled with God.
In His name, Jesus Christ, Amen.

I agree with you a 100%, the real problem is the one's talking really don't know much about the religion, they take bits and pieces and run with it.
