Really?

Yesterday, when Aidan's dda worker was here with him, we experienced something new... it took some time to get the details from Aidan- that's how it is when you're child has speech delays and especially when they have seizures.  So I will explain it from my point of view first.

They were headed downstairs to play with Aidan's trains.
Jace had just been dropped off, so both he and Damon were wanting to go down for train time as well.  I was making bread.  Suddenly I hear Aidan hysterically screaming in pain.  I find him at the bottom of the stairs with his dda worker standing nearby, looking stunned.  He said to me something like, "It looks like he's having a bad leg cramp."  I could see Aidan's foot muscles contracting and his big toe flexed way up, so I agreed that must be what was happening.  Aidan couldn't breath, he was in so much pain.  Having muscle spasms like that myself during pregnancy, I knew the pain is breathtaking.  So I proceeded to squeeze and stretch his foot.  This made Aidan shriek even louder.  I thought it was odd, but continued because it was all I could think would help such a thing.  Well, at least a half hour later, and after dealing with screaming from his brothers as well as I removed them- it hadn't stopped or even let up.  I finally got him to the chair in the living room, and called his pediatrician.  I asked, is there anything else I can do, that I'm not, to make it stop?  The answer was no, take him to the ER.  Grrr.
As the call ended and I was thinking of how on earth I could get him to the ER, the muscle contractions stopped.  Aidan was still in a ton of pain, but at least the spasms had let go.
So I relaxed just a little.  He didn't leave the chair.  I knew he'd been having seizures this whole time, but wasn't completely sure just how many and how long they were... it was too chaotic.
By the time his dad made it home a couple hours later, he was shrieking in pain again and it had started to swell.  Not major swelling, just moderately.  We knew at this point that it was an injury, not just muscles freaking out.
Then I freaked out.  I'd been squeezing and stretching!  If he had a broken bone, I'd have been making it worse!
So off to the ER like the pediatrician said.
While at the hospital, Aidan was able to explain he'd been in such a hurry to catch up to his worker, he'd stumbled and fallen on the stairs, hurting his foot in the process.
True to Aidan's personality, he talked the drs ears off. :)
The xrays didn't show any breaks, but they knew from his reactions he'd at least torn a tendon.  They also warned us that a bone could have just cracked, and wouldn't fully break until later.  So if he's not better in a week, we should take him back for new xrays.
So he's been faithfully sitting in the chair, going in between shock like shivering and overheating.  Blankets on, then blankets off and mister spraying.

Now back while he was sitting in the chair and his dad wasn't home yet, I had this horrible chilling and shaking come over me.  I was a mess.  So I cancelled all the therapies for today and tried laying down.
Then in the middle of the night, I wake up to Jace shrieking.  (Now what?!)  He'd thrown up in his bed (AGAIN!- he'd done that Friday night, and I thought was over it, it was after all, 3 days later without any puking in between.)  so I spent the next 2 hours cleaning that up and getting him calmed down.

Today, honestly, I can hardly move- my muscles are completely exhausted, weak, and feel like they've been pulled like taffy.  Just like they did a few months ago when I had the last flare up of symptoms.  Not normal, I know.  But I can't do anything about it right now other than try to get rest when I can.
Rest, wow that would be so nice. :)
