artforms

Aidan created this airplane on his own. This set has pictures or guides for creating images. He wanted an airplane, but there was no guide showing an airplane. So he came up with his own.
It's times like this that I'm really grateful for such a great variety of learning toys. Aidan will go pick something out whether I've asked him to or not, bring it out, and insist we "play." He could pick out shapes on buildings, pointing and telling me, "triangle!!!" when he was 18 months old. It's really fun to see how he can grasp, at such an early age, that everything is several shapes put together, and that you can alter how something appears by changing those shapes.
