Jacen's 1st Birthday!

On his real Birthday, we waited up for Daddy to get home from a late work schedule. Jacen was "drugged" with antibiotics and pain killer, but still a happy dude. Probably because of the pain killer!
Then today, we went to Bubbas for lunch. As you can see, I made a mistake taking the photo at the end of the lunch. Jacen was clearly ready to go. He loves the pulled BBQ pork there, and frankly, so do Mommy and Daddy. Aidan likes anything that comes with fries.
He was furious we put him in the highchair. But was really happy with the cake after we took him out.
He was so excited about this track. It was the hit, for sure.
I can't believe my little dude is 1yr old!
Here are some facts about our Birthday Boy:

Jace has 4 teeth now, with several that look close to popping through. Poor guy has an ear infection for his birthday, that's no fun. But as usual, I didn't even know. Both he and Aidan act the same, giving me few or no clues they feel terrible, until they are bad enough to be admitted to the hospital. So he's on antibiotics and motrin (for the shots he just grudgingly received) and keeps falling over every few minutes. Jacen's vocabulary has increased from "Aidan" to include "Mama" and "Dada" and "Yah!" along with the usual gibberish that sounds like another language. He (just like Aidan was) isn't fearful of anyone and is quick to approach even total strangers. Jace still hates diaper and clothing changes, giving both his parents a major tantrum and cork screw body every time. Which is frankly, way past the funny point, and just down right exhausting. Jacen drinks from a straw, and self feeds finger foods like a pro. Jace climbs up everything, and gets into everything. And man, does he get jealous of his brother! If Aidan gets a drink from Daddy's cup, Jacen has to have one too. Doesn't matter what, if Aidan has it or is doing it, Jacen is right there demanding participation and duplication. I think a little brother will be good for Jace. ;)

Birthday ice cream cake!

Much happier...

Gifts.

The hit of the bunch. But he did love all of them, and is still playing with every single one. Thank you Grandparents for your gifts!

Owen has that very track as well... it is a hit at our house too. He will play with it for like a half hour. It's great.
