Happy to be home

I think Aidan is as happy to be home, as we are to have him home.
He has sores all over his head, chest, and back from the monitors (glue used to hold the monitors on)... the worst ones are on his head though. You can see his forehead didn't stand a chance either.

I will explain why I am so upset over how the whole the video eeg was handled.
First, we were told by his neurologist here to leave him on the medication, rather than ween him off before the scheduled event. So the first 2 1/2 days were a waste, because he should have been weened prior to admission. He took Aidan off the medication without weening. I suppose he may have felt this was "safe" because of Aidan being the hospital, and because the medication has a long "half life."
Problem with that argument though, is Aidan is barely 5yrs old, with a developing brain that is already sustaining brain damage everyday from the uncontrolled seizures. Deliberately doing such a thing is irresponsible at best. And as I was worried about, Aidan sustained some pretty huge seizures that included more than one grand mal. It's my personal opinion that has nothing to do with his epilepsy itself, and more to do with the way the whole thing was handled.
Then, he turned right around and put Aidan on the full dose again, without easing him into it. It's medication that should never be given at full dose straight from no dose.
Aidan has been having seizures back to back over and over because of this, and it will clearly take a while for it all to calm down. He also has a pretty significant rash all over his body... I can only assume that is from the medication games too.
In the meantime, the neurologist was claiming Aidan wasn't having any seizures at all, and that he was just exhibiting behaviors. Until the first grand mal. Then he admitted Aidan had been having smaller focal seizures the whole time there. Manipulation and jerking people around is apparently this guys usual self, because I looked him up, and I'm so not the only one disgusted with him.
But he's taking it all really well. I think part of it has to do with me making a very big effort to prepare him, and Lincoln being willing to implement the plan, but mostly because Aidan is just a great kid.

It was clear that Aidan was happy to see baby Damon, and Damon happy too see his big brother. These two have a special bond. Damon's face totally lights up when Aidan gives him direct attention. When Jace does that, Damon gets nervous. :)
