Many of you know already that I chose to make the gigantic change from disposable diapers to cloth for Jace because of the constant rashes. Knowing it's such a huge change, I decided it would be stupid to just cloth diaper one boy and not the other, so baby Damon gets to be a guinea pig too. I researched to the point of obsession, as I usually do, and these are the first choices I made. The choices are far more staggering than disposables. Wet or Dry storage? Pail liner or Bag? Hundreds of different detergents and every one's opinion about which is best... enzymes or not... disinfectants or not? etc. All in One, Pocket, Hybrid, One Size, Fitted, or Prefolds? Liners or not? I mean it's unreal. So, I actually decided on two totally different diapers for Jace vs Damon. Those I will show later. But for now, I'll show what has already arrived. And it's appropriate, because who wants cloth diapers without the way to clean and store them first? Not me! I chose the Dry Bag method. This hangs on an over the door hook (not included, I already had) and has the pouch for clean diapers and such to be stored in, and then the biggest pouch is lined with PUL for storing the soiled diapers. In front of the detergent is a powder to sprinkle in that pouch to keep the smell under control. When it's time to do laundry, I will simply take the whole bag to the washer, dump the contents in, and add the bag. Now this doesn't look like much detergent, but that's because you only need 1- 2Tbsp per load. I chose Motley Clean for my scent (just like the rest of this adventure, they've got many to choose from) and it smells great!
Next week I'll unveil my diaper choices with pics of them wearing them! :)

Our friends in Tucson who used cloth diapers said they put a T on the water line from their toilet and attached a sprayer hose to it. Whenever they had a soiled diaper they just went to the toilet and sprayed out the mess into the toilet. They said it saved them tons of time in the long run on the cleanup. I just thought that was an interesting idea, maybe you can use it or maybe not.
