Heat

Well I've just given up on the video.

Aidan's dehydration has proven to be difficult to control.  I figured out two of his meds were interacting making his body not regulate electrolytes correctly.  Then his mild dehydration turned worse.  Before the weather suddenly got hot.  So we've been keeping him from going to the park, from riding his scooter, and other stuff that he loves to do, all in an effort to keep him from working all the hydration we're pumping into him off.  I feel like a freak.  Seriously.  Like a mean crazy freak mom.

I gave in today with a deal that he had to drink two full water bottles while at therapy, and he could go to the park.  He looks horrible.  He looks like he has heat stroke.  I'd also sent shorts which he apparently refused to change into. It wasn't hot when he left, and we literally had one day of spring, it was yesterday.  Today, apparently, is summer.

The specialists called back today and said I'm just going to have to deal with it because they don't know of anything to help and he has to have both meds.  I was afraid they'd say that.  Of course I got the condescending "use lip balm and increase his fluid intake."  Gee, I really hadn't thought of that...  Oh, that pomegranate lip balm that's over half gone, don't have a clue how that happened, and all the propel, hawaiian punches and pedialyte just must have evaporated.  Sorry, I'm just a little tired of the assuming I'm that stupid. I mean are there really moms out there that call before trying that first?!

On the happier side, I made breadsticks today.  Breadsticks worthy of melted cheese and dip, not the trash can.  Yay!
