Thomas 2011

The last couple of years we haven't taken the boys because of Aidan's seizures being too bad.  You have to order tickets months in advance because they sell out quickly.  This year I just felt like we could do it even though when I ordered them, Aidan's seizures were way out of control.

 Waiting to ride Thomas' coaches.
Aidan insisted on the orangish - brownish one because it looked closest to Annie or Clarabel.

These boys did not want pics there were too many things to look at.
 I love this pic.
(Now in defense of Aidan's pants... he's been getting bigger in the waist since the vomiting has been stopped, but he's not getting taller.  Since the forecast made it sound cold, I broke into his fall pants and you can see the result.)
These are little cars that go zipping up and down the line.  Last time Aidan rode it.  Today he refused.  It was just too hard... too loud.  He was done after waiting in line for this and I mean done.
All we got done after Jace and Daddy rode the yellow car was eat extremely overpriced food.
This was Damon's first hot dog try.  Most of it ended up on the ground.
Aidan even refused photos with Thomas and Sir Topham Hat.
We tried getting a quick one on the way to the burb, but as you can see... Daddy was the only one taking it seriously.

The only thing that saved Aidan at all this time was a water mister we had.  We literally kept spraying him with it every few minutes.  Other parents were asking if we'd bought it there, wishing they had one.  But even that wasn't enough.  Having cut it extremely short, he still crashed in the car with a seizure filled nap, and will pay for it for days.  As we drove away I realized we really will have to get him a wheelchair for things like this.  He just could not handle standing waiting in line, all that walking around, and being out in the heat and sun.

We've RSVP'd to a thing at the zoo that I now also realize he will not be able to pull off unless we have him in a chair the whole time.

It was still worth it.  He was disgusted it took so long to get back home. :) But I know he and his brothers thoroughly enjoyed the train ride, and well, that's the main part of it anyway.

I'm thrilled to see that your family was able to make the trip and enjoy the Thomas train again. It was quite a shock to see you in a photo! As I was reading about how you want a chair for Aidan next time, it reminded me of so many places I've been with Alex when he couldn't handle standing so long and dealing with the heat. He loves the mister, too. I learned quickly to always bring a chair. My heart still aches for Aidan and the challenges he has to deal with daily. I know he appreciates everything you do for him. I'm sure this trip meant a lot to everyone. Thoughts and prayers are still with you and your family. Love you! Elle
