After many arguments...

Here's the canopy done like I asked it to be. :)

 See, I bought rope and these little brackets to reinforce it all.  Because after all, we live where the wind blows... A LOT.

This is how daddy had it at first.  Within a couple days there was a windstorm that took that up like a sail and put 7 or so large tears in the shade material.  So of course, the arguing continued, and even heated up a few notches. ;)

So several windstorms later, the arguing ended and we now have the rope crossed over on top and hooked along the sides.  Thank you honey, it's much better!
