Aidan's Private Viewing

The funeral home picked up Aidan a little while later Sunday morning, I think it was around 11am.  It was a blur, frankly.  Even though I knew this would happen because the geneticist warned us repeatedly, it didn't reduce the impact or heartache.  Now we have to go through it 2 more times, and again, knowing what's ahead is not reducing that impact and heartache.

When we went in to make the final arrangements, they let us see Aidan with his Herbie shirt, before the suit.  I made the mistake of not snapping some quick photos.  He looked so sweet and happy.

We are actually private people, believe it or not, and if I'd had my choice alone, I'd have just done our own private everything and not invited anyone. lol
But Aidan was well enough known in our community and I felt like we needed to include others on some level.  So we chose a private viewing first.
This allowed us to invite specific people that had very personal involvement in Aidan's life and keep it intimate.
The funeral home was amazing, so caring and paying attention to detail.

The printed program they put together was perfect.

Watching the video my sweet friend put together.

Damon wanted the white Herbie hat that went with Aidan.

Jacob, a former aide to Aidan, is on a mission right now. Aidan trusted Jacob completely. His parents came in his place.  I'd really hoped Aidan would make it until Jacob returned.  But he doesn't get home until March.

My brother Steve with Jace.  They look so much alike. :)

Therapists and nurses.

Aidan's day nurse and therapist.

Damon didn't want the Herbie car to go either.
It was given to Aidan by our Bishop.  Aidan absolutely loved it.  It even had a spare tire.

 Some of my family.

 Sweet secretary entertaining Damon.

Oh so hard.  One last time before they closed the casket.

 My mom and brother Matt.

 Lincoln's parents.

 One more kiss from Jace.

 Sweet Damon.

Jace didn't want to say goodbye.

Leaving for the graveside service.
