It may seem like all is terribly sad with their disabilities.
The fact is, there are very important lessons I have learned from my boys, because of their medical challenges.
#5- They keep trying. No matter how frustrated they are with their limitations or circumstances, they try and try again. The Little Engine That Could was Aidan's favorite story. Very fitting indeed. It's actually the reason my blog is named Three Little Engines, they keep at it even though the tracks ahead are so very steep.
#4- They always care about others. Even when experiencing miserable things themselves. If anyone cries or looks sad, they show concern. When they experience painful things, they worry about how it will effect me, they don't want me to stress or worry.
#3- They are helpful and want to feel needed. I can't do chores of any kind without them wanting to jump in and help me.
#2- They include everyone and are incredibly outgoing. They don't ever exclude or refuse others. They greet everyone with smiles and cheerful excitement. On the playground they involve anyone nearby. On wheelchair or wagon rides they love seeing other people and pets, and gladly start up a conversation, welcoming them into their circle.
#1- They love everyone. Jace is always telling people he loves them. Not just those he knows, but complete strangers too... "Hey kid! I love you!" Even the servers at the drive thru. hahaha. Some have no idea how to react, others smile and respond. They don't discriminate. They don't give a flying fig if you are different in any way. They just love. Just as Christ does.
The warmth and light that they have and share is something that I not only adore about them, but something that I want too.
