Baby is still growing, but his legs are 2 additional weeks behind the rest of his body, which is 2 weeks smaller than their average figures. And the umbilical cord is only a 2 vessel cord. The umbilical cord would actually be the cause of his legs not growing, if that is what's really happening. It restricts oxygen to the baby and can cause birth defects, including short limps. I was a little freaked by this news, but asked for a Blessing and am much calmer. Whatever happens, I have no control over it, except to do my best to get the care me and baby need. And I am doing that.
So there will be extra ultrasounds, and NST's, just like the other pregnancies. Meanwhile I have a CPAP machine (the specialist chose to treat me for free instead of retest later) for this last trimester. This is a huge blessing. The baby's oxygen won't be restricted even more, and I can actually breath at night!!! Just days after I was fitted with the machine, my congestion got much worse. So I've had the best sleep ever, with the helpful machine. It's not as uncomfortable, for me, as many people say it is for them. But then, it is just over my nose, and not over my mouth too. My only complaint is that I can't leave it on for my many trips to the bathroom each night. :)
