Brotherly Headstone

Years ago we weren't able to have a proper headstone for Clayton Dominic, so we just put his marker in cement and hoped that at some point we'd be able to give him one.
We certainly didn't expect it to come in the form it did... When Aidan passed away, we obviously then needed one for him as well. I figured we'd have yet another marker in cement again. But a fundraiser provided enough to pay for the funeral, and a headstone, as well as some medical bills we were desperate to pay off. Knowing Aidan was going to be buried in the same plot as Clayton, I suggested we add Clayton's name to Aidan's stone.
Then picking the design and stone was of course emotional. The stone itself, became important because nothing else felt right for Aidan. So the size ended up not being very big, which is fine really. We just wanted what he would have picked.
This is the end result.

We took out Clayton's old marker, and put in a flower area between my brother's grave and their graves, in anticipation of the headstone being put in.

I was really grateful they ended up getting it in. Even though it wasn't the nicest marker, it still felt odd not having at least something there for him.

And soon Lincoln will weld another section of chain and shepard's hook for wreath's and such.
